Using the Vagus Nerve to Our Advantage!

The healthier the vagus nerve, the healthier we are. The vagus nerve is responsible for helping us shift the body from a state of fight-or-flight, to a resting and calm state. We use this process constantly throughout our day! There are a variety of ways we can strengthen the vagus nerve so that we can respond appropriately to stressors such as humming, deep breathing and practicing mindfulness.

BrainAhead Connection:

Using this knowledge, humming is included throughout the BrainBootcamp course; deep breathing is included in every Brain Bootcamp and Mindfulness class; and we of course have an entire course dedicated to mindfulness to help boost that vagus nerve!
