No two students are alike and that is why the BrainAhead program has been built to address the needs of all students in the classroom. We recognize that each student has their own set of strengths and challenges that need to be supported, regardless of who or where they are.
Effective brain-based approaches are currently limited to one-on-one occupational therapy, physical therapy and other clinical-based therapies. However, these options are limited and usually inaccessible to support all students who require assistance at the same time in a way that complements classroom learning and core curriculum competencies, until now.
How BrainAhead Addresses These Challenges
BrainAhead works to improve behavior, emotional regulation, gross and fine motor skills, and can help every student achieve their full potential. We know that the better the brain can communicate within itself, the better one’s overall functioning will be. The brain-activating video-led courses for the classroom, as well as supplementary competency-based resources for teachers, encourage lasting improvement in social, emotional and academic performance.
The programs are intended for teachers in kindergarten to grade five who want to ensure that every student's brain is activated and well-trained for classroom learning. With that being said though, current users of BrainAhead range from students to teachers and parents, and they have all reported improved self-regulation, learning and behavior!
We took tried-and-true techniques used by practicing clinicians and systematically packaged them into clinically-based follow-along videos that are simple for teachers to present and enjoyable for students. Additionally, BrainAhead offers lesson plans and other resources that align with the curriculum so that educators can help make the necessary changes to students’ brains with the click of a button!
The Foundation of BrainAhead: Functional Neurology
Functional neurology is an emerging discipline that focuses on identifying and rehabilitating the root cause of symptoms and imbalances that occur within the brain. This discipline studies how the brain functions and how we can use a variety of stimuli and input to create changes in the brain and affect the various areas mentioned above. The BrainAhead courses, which are unique to education and move beyond social and emotional learning concepts taught in school, address the root causes of students' surface-level challenges while aligning with educational competencies.
